This postcard was sent by my friend, Tonya. As you can read, it is of the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Mt. LeConte is 6593 feet tall, causing the temperatures to be up to 20 degrees lower than the lower towns.

I live in Gatlinburg and the temperature range between Mt. LeConte and the city can be as much as 50 degrees. One day in May (I don't remember what year it was),the temperature on the main street, The Parkway, was 80 degrees and it was snowing up on Mt. LeConte.
