I got this from Aunt Illene. Grandma Hughes was once babysat here.
Jacob Hamblin (1819-1886) peacemaker and missionary to the Indians, came to this area in 1854 along with 22 other Mormon missionaries to work among and assist the Piute Indians. Later on, Jacob Hamblin also worked with the Hopi, Navajo and Apache tribes. He became known as the one white man the Indians could trust. This home was completed in 1864.
