    Napoli, Italy

This was sent by my friend, Bettina. This is the Castel dell Ovo, also known as Egg Castle. It is located on a small island in the bay of Naples. The castle was built by the Normans in the 12th century. Legend says that the poet Virgil had a magical egg put in the foundations to support them. If the egg breaks, the castle will collapse and Naples will be struck with bad luck.
